Please briefly present the partner organisation.
INTERNATIONAL YOUTH SOLIDARITY ASSOCIATION is an association, a non-governmental organization established in 2014. With the main aim to design programs for developing skills of young people, discover their talents as well as to teach them to take actions and responsibilities. We want to provide youth with adequate tools and motivation to activate their minds and bodies in order to become great leaders of 21st century. We want to support young people to adapt and integrate into a changing world, to become leaders and coordinators, to support their personal and professional development through non-formal education. We are trying to direct the young people to take action through which they will challenge themselves and gain valuable experience. 

We are focusing mainly on outdoor activities and experiential learning. That is why we bring youth and offer them opportunities to grow, tasting the excitement of an adventure in the volunteering world, which is full of diversity and paths to follow.

For our organization a crucial element is non-formal education that turns knowledge into unforgettable experience. Our organization guide youth and help them be an active actor of the society, to reappraise values and to develop the necessary skills and competencies others than the ones developed in the framework of formal education.

Our work is based on 5 key values: 
- together is better (collaboration with all sectors, intercultural exchange)
- development of mentoring culture (be a mentor, ask for mentor, reach for help)
- be approachable (promote, disseminate, be open-minded)
- be responsible and authentic (synchronize your thoughts, words and actions)
- challenge yourself to be a better human (learn, teach, help, train, exercise)

Main target group of the organization are young people between 17 and 30 years old. In accordance with inclusion strategy and priorities of the organization, special focus of our programs is on young people with fewer opportunities. 

Regular activities of the organization are implemented under 2 basic strands of Strategy of the organization: (1) Educational Projects; (2) Social Project (3) Cultural Projects and sub-strands: (1) Activism & Youth Participation; (2) Youth Entrepreneurship & Social Entrepreneurship.

Our organization is developing and implementing projects within Erasmus+, Local and National Grants and Town Twinning projects. By implementing various programs and activities the association gained support of local stakeholders such as local self-government, public institutions (library, theater, youth center), local Chamber of trades and crafts, centre for social care, universities and schools.

Activities and experience of UGDD

 

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH SOLIDARITY ASSOCIATION is experienced in implementing international projects within Erasmus+ programme. Through extensive work in the international field the association has gained organizational: content-management, logistics, follow-up, dissemination. Our association has a MEDIAstudio where we are producing and designing videos, sound records and materials for youth projects.

We have been actively involved in all stages of youth exchanges and training courses: planning, defining roles and responsibilities of project partners, meetings, preparation, logistics, communication between all partners involved, arranging project timetables, as well as promotion of projects and dissemination of their results through our Internet pages and by organizing informative sessions for the local youth for better visibility.

- projects to support a healthy lifestyle

- support campaigns against limitations on human rights

- ecological events, energy efficiency and savings

- foreign language speaking clubs

- film societies

- literature evenings

- exhibitions of art

- camp of arts

 

Our role in this project will be to bring to the table the experience about how to make an adventure worth the effort of involving local youngsters. It is very important to know that just an idea or some activities will not become a memorable experience without some key elements, such as: sustainability, follow-up, and the importance of the team, local community, feelings, team-building activities and many more.

 

Experiences and our responsibilities relevant for this project application:

- Planning and management of logistic

- Communication with the Partners and applicant organization

- Promotion of the project

- Selection of suitable participants according to the applicant

- Planning and implementation of the preparation activities (before the departure)

- Preparation of the participants and their travel plan

- Management of administrative procedures and all technical and organizational aspects

- Management of the flows of participants

- Management of the relationship with accommodation and local transfers

- Planning and implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities

- Planning and implementation of the follow up activities

- Disseminating the results and working towards better visibility.

- Multiplying the results with the Peer-to-Peer method

 

Implemented projects that our team was involved:

- Training Course about Mass-media and communication

- Training Course for Non formal education in youth work activities

- Youth Exchange for youth participation in excluded communities

 

For the moment we are implementing Town Twinning project in collaboration with Ankara and Eregli Municipality to raise awareness of people on media campaigns.
